There will be one Advanced level workshop taught in 2010; September 26 – October 5, 2010.The Advanced class is limited to a maximum of 16 students.Please note, the Intensive Workshop is a prerequisite to participation in the Advanced Workshop.
The Advanced Class picks up where the Intensive left off. You'll join other artists who share a common vocabulary, foundation and desire to take their work to yet another level of competence, skill and painterly expression. Christensen will continue to develop at a more complex level his philosophy of "The Three P's." Prepare at the highest level. Practice at the highest level. Paint at the highest level.
This class will study: *The interpretation of backlit situations. *The interpretation of facelit situations. *Advanced composition study. *Variety of exterior line vs. interior line. *The selection of different motifs. *How to break preconceived ideas. *How to work quickly to capture vital information. *Analysis of deceased painters and their work with discussion of problems we all face with our own painting. Also included with the registration fee are: *Daily, morning coffee service. *Welcome Reception.
Optional activity: Dinner every other night with fellow artists at the studio. (nominal fee)
