The prestigious Steamboat Art Museum in Steamboat, Springs, Colorado will present a one-man exhibition this summer titled "Scott L. Christensen: Selected Works."
 The

years, are on loan from private collections.
Oil Painters of America Select Scott Christensen as Awarding Juror
The Oil Painters of America (OPA) will celebrate its twentieth anniversary this summer with their Twentieth National Juried Exhibition to be held at Devin Galleries in Couer d'Alene, Idaho. With nearly 7000 sq. ft. of exhibition space, Devin Galleries will host an opening reception for artists, collectors, the public and the press on Friday, June 10, 2011.
The OPA has selected Scott Christensen as the awarding juror of the exhibition. The focus in the jurying process will be to select paintings that show the highest quality in draftsmanship, color, and composition, emphasizing a diversity in representational style and subject matter. The total awards will be in excess of $50,000, including a $25,000 Best In Show.

Lecture at the Denver Art Museum
Scott Christensen spoke to members of the Denver Art Museum's prestigious organization, Friends of Painting and Sculpture, in March 2010. Listeners were given an opportunity to learn about Christensen's creative process. The highlight was his comparison between creating classical music (Bach's Italian Concerto) and creating fine art (see "What Makes It Great" podcast from the Lincoln Center) and the analogies he drew between the two. To learn more about the lecture, check out Victoria Ekelund's blog post.
